Our hearts mourn the loss of our dear friend and colleague Pastor Eugene Minter. He served faithfully for 10 years at ALFC as a staff pastor, leader, and captain. Words cannot express the love we had for him and his family as well as the love he showed to so many. He was truly an example on many fronts and a humble servant of the Lord! Join us as we continue to pray for the Minter family for God’s peace, comfort and support.

In 2004, eugene accepted a full-time position as Executive Church administrator with abundant Living Family Church. He later became a full-time Associate Pastor. His leadership and passion was pivotal in the development of the Abundant Life Ministry – he facilitated the frequently “standing room only” Abundant Life classes. Throughout his career, he was committed to volunteer service with community and youth programs, prison ministries, evangelism and with gangs. Rowley Park, California State University, Long Beach and a number of church ministries prepared him for the call at Abundant Living Family Church.

A gifted athlete who played football and baseball, he was well known fro playing “street” basketball, a game of hard fouls. Eugene was also selected to the City of Los Angeles All-Star track team. Boxing was a passion. Always the athlete, Eugene ran and lifted weights to stay in shape. From childhood, he was a diehard fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Lakers. Eugene was renowned for his James Brown moves, and he was not shy about performing. Music from the 70’s brought out the James Brown splits. he participated in a local cable television show called “Born to Win”. He enjoyed traveling the world for pleasure and ministry. Maui was his favorite destination.
Eugene was proceeded in death by his father. He leaves his wife Janis with whom he shared his life with for forty-two years. Eugene was the loving and proud father of Shannon Pablo, shayne Minter, Brooke Minter, and Martyne (Nathan) Kocaka. Eugene’s mother Elizabeth survives him as well.
